Harrisonville Emergency Services opens enrollment for EMT class

Harrisonville Emergency Services Headquarters

Applications are available for the Harrisonville Emergency Services’ upcoming Emergency Medical Technician class.

The 20-student class is tentatively scheduled to begin on Dec. 3, and be held at 6:30 p.m. every Monday and Thursday in the training room at the EMS Headquarters, located at 903 S Commercial Street.

The class is the National Registry EMT class and is the mandated 160 hour course. At the conclusion of the class, students will receive a course completion certificate and the first round of practical testing, which is included in their tuition. After successful completion of practical testing, students will take a state written test. After successfully passing the written test, students will be nationally registered (NREMT).

If started on time, the class is expected to finish by the end of April, 2019.

The cost of the class is $1000. Students will be required to pay a $250 deposit to enroll. Payment arrangements will be available to complete the cost of tuition.

To apply, pick up an application at the EMS Headquarters between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or click here.

The deadline to enroll is 5 p.m. on Nov. 23.

Anyone with questions is asked to contact Fire Chief Eric Myler (816) 380-8925 or Rachel Corr (816) 380-8927.
