Board of Aldermen to resume meeting at City Hall beginning in March

New council chambers

As COVID-19 cases in both Cass County and the State of Missouri as a whole decrease, City Boards and Commissions will return to holding public meetings in the Council Chambers at City Hall.

This will begin with the Board of Aldermen meeting on Monday, March 1.

As the City of Harrisonville works to maintain a safe and transparent environment for all members of the community during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Board of Aldermen meetings at City Hall will not have a live audience. Instead, meetings will be available through a livestream on the City’s YouTube channel. The livestream can be found by clicking on the link in the previous sentence or by clicking on the “Watch City Meetings” link in the “Government” section of www.harrisonville.com. Individuals who have submitted an Agenda Request Form or are applicants listed for an item on the meeting’s agenda will be allowed to attend the meeting in person but will be asked to leave the meeting after their item has been reviewed by the Board.

The meeting schedule will continue to be posted on the City’s website calendar, including any cancellations.

Anyone with questions about a City public meeting, is asked to call City Clerk Daniel Barnett (816) 380-8916.

The City is working across all departments and with the professionals at the Cass County Health Department to prevent potential spread and ensure proper measures and precautions are in place. As of February 25, there have been 1,068 known cases of COVID-19 in Harrisonville, and 7,205 cases have been reported in Cass County, since the start of the pandemic. Tragically, 78 people have died, as a result of COVID-19.
